CITY OF LAOAG – The provincial government, through its tourism department, is appealing to local artists to showcase their talents and seize the chance to design the next best Ilokano public art in the province.
With a proposed budget of no more than PHP 500,000, organizers said on Tuesday that participants could choose to design the Paoay Sand Dunes, Solsona-Apayao Road, Saud Beach, Kapurpurawan Rock Formation and the Capitol Garden. East.
According to Xavier Ruiz, senior manager of tourism operations at Ilocos Norte, a design for each of the five exhibition areas will be chosen and the provincial government will subsidize the construction of the winning design.
“Participants should consider the availability and durability of the materials to be used, as well as installation methods, manufacturers and foundation work,” he said, noting that these art installations should be accessible. to the public and that all designs should be both aesthetic and functional.
