Japanese publisher KADOKAWA Co. has announced the upcoming release of the two art books “Elden Ring Official Art Book Volume I” and “Elden Ring Official Art Book Volume II”. The two products will be sold separately each for ¥4,400 ($31.40), or as a bundled package with high-definition art of “Godfrey” for ¥17,600 ($125.61).
Originally planned as an art book, it was split into two volumes in order to include as many artworks as possible from the vast amount of artwork present in the game. Volume I contains the art used in the main game’s opening cutscene, concept art for fields and dungeons, and art related to characters and armor. Volume II contains artwork for the various enemies and threats players will be familiar with, in addition to numerous artwork for the weapons and items players collect along their journey through the vast open world of Elden Ring.
As for the special edition of the ebtenDX package, it will be available in limited quantities exclusively on Ebten.jp, and will include the two official art books as well as a high definition frame of “Godfrey”. The deep and beautiful art adopts high-quality printing technology called “CharaFine” and uses high-quality paper developed exclusively for the preservation and reproduction of important cultural assets and national treasures. All three items will also be included in a three-sided special. box that can hold both art volumes together.
Publisher Ebten has also released sample content that players can expect to find in each of the respective volumes. With them, the specifications planned for each book were initially laid out. Each volume will include 400 pages of high quality detailed art. As for the size of the Godfrey frame, it will be approximately 440 x 354 mm, and the dimensions of the artwork will be A4 (287 x 202 mm). The three-sided box is a special free purchase bonus from Ebten and is not included in the overall price of the DX pack.
The books will only be available in physical editions, and there is no indication that a digital edition is in production. Interested players can also check out publisher Kadokawa’s pages for more published books and strategy guides on new and relevant games such as Persona 5 The Royal, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, and 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim. Elden Ring is now available for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, and PC, and there are plans to expand the IP beyond the current game, according to a recent statement from director Hidetaka Miyazaki.
